Fire Rescue

Sterling offers two product lines for use in fire fighting situations: Search lines and Escape Ropes. Sterling’s high heat resistant search lines were developed specifically for demanding and extreme conditions often encountered during search operations. Firefighter safety and survival is paramount for every department and search lines have emerged as an integral rescue tool for rescue operations. Sterling utilizes aramid fibers, such as Technora®, in unique constructions to achieve the optimum handling, heat resistance and strength required for these ropes. Sterling’s escape ropes are certified to NFPA 1983, 2006 edition and have a perfect balance of strength, abrasion resistance, and handling. Our ropes are designed with a tougher sheath and better elongation in the cores to absorb the impact forces from a bail out. Development work with FDNY led to the creation of the FireTech 32™. No other personal escape ropes have been tested as much or as thoroughly as Sterling’s products, which is why Sterling fire rescue ropes are the most preferred ropes by top fire and safety instructors.
