Sterling Athletes Team
Name: Brad Weaver
How did you get started climbing? My buddy and I were extremely bored one summer and decided to make a trip to the local climbing gym. Like a lot of people I was hooked from the start. We went for 6 hours a day for about a week before a rest day was absolutely necessary.
How old were you when you started? 16
Who or what inspired you to start climbing? I always climbed a lot of trees growing up. I guess I transitioned from trees to rocks.
Who served as your inspiration in life? Anybody who lives life to the fullest without any regrets.
What was your first outdoor climb? Group Therapy 5.10c, Jackson Falls IL
What do you do when you're not climbing? Watch movies, eat, chill, run around with my dog, etc.
Any training advice or suggestions? Don't get stuck into a routine. Its good to mix things up. If you've been bouldering a bunch, try roped climbing for a while, and vice versa.
What do you feel is your best accomplishment, outside of climbing? Staying in school...for me school is a necessary evil.
What do you feel is your best accomplishment within climbing? Staying psyched to try hard.
Favorite quote? "Ball hard!"
If you could have 1 superpower what would it be? Teleportation or the ability to control the weather
If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be? (no wishing for more wishes) To be safe, happy, and healthy.
What was your favorite childhood cartoon? Either Rocco's Modern Life or Duck Tales
